My first ever novelty birthday cake! I needed a practice run before the actual birthday party so made this cake using Lorraine Pascal's recipe for Victoria sandwich cake, filled with unsweetened mascarpone/double cream and fresh raspberries. Covered in marzipan with marzipan decorations, a plastic Timmy and a candle.



Baking it the day before made it a bit too dry for my liking (or it was simply over-cooked, the oven is a bit on the warm side!).
