I don't really want to give my two girls chocolate advent calendars so on November 30th I realised I hadn't gotten them anything! I rushed down to the local Salvos thrift shop and bought a load of books, sing-a-long cds, puzzles and wooden fridge magnets so that they at least get something useful to open and fight over!
The next project was the xmas tree... we've just moved to Australia from England and a real tree just seems ridiculous here in the heat and the sunshine! In fact any decorations invoking thoughts of frost and snow seem completely out of place. So I've put together a twig tree in the meantime while husband contemplates picking up a Christmas tree or a real Australian conifer or pine of some description.
But the kids love it and I adore the kitsch multi-coloured reindeer lights!
